(Re)discover the city of Bruges from aboard the typical tourist boats on the canals.

Ferry Tales takesyou on a unique guided tour where facts, myths, and fiction blend into a story about what the city’s waterways were, are, and could become. It’s about tourists and residents, about watching and being watched, and about guides who lose their way but still manage to take you somewhere. 

Ilse de Koe, Julie Delrue (Another Hero vzw), and Tom Ternest (vzw Het Eenzame Westen) join forces with a large group of enthusiastic amateur actors from Bruges (BRUT) to delve into the many stories that cling to the quays of Bruges. Professionals and enthusiasts, organizations, and volunteers are working together to create this unique immersive experience. 

“Ferry Tales” will bea sensory journey on and across the waters of Bruges.
A family show about going with the flow, taking the reins, and sometimes… just letting things happen.

Another Hero vzw is the production company run by actresses and theater artists Ilse de Koe and Julie Delrue. Another Hero was founded in 2023 and is based in Bruges, driven by a strong desire to create original works and build a sustainable platform for artistic projects. With Another Hero, we develop theater that explores existential themes makes it accessible to a wide audience through imagination, humor, and a distinctly theatrical language. We create performances in which lightness and vulnerability coexist. In this way, we aim to create space for shared experiences that transcend the personal. In recent years, we have produced the following works: *Mamamanie* (2023), Allez Lea (2023), Yvonne (2025, in collaboration with the Psychiatric Center Dr Guislain Ghent), I See, I See What You Don’t See (2026).

Theatermakery The Lonely West has been touring the province since 2015 West Flanders to stage plays there that they then perform throughout Flanders for an ever-wider audience. Since “ZWINS” (2019), it has found its true identity in documentary theater. They explore a specific environment or dissect a social trend and aim to address universal themes through locally collected stories and testimonies. Their craft consists of reflecting and questioning, as a potential catalyst for conversation and change. The now-recognizable signature in their performances is the use of a specifically chosen West Flemish dialect to reinforce the authentic world they depict, and humor as a balm for an often harsh reality. The often metaphorical  design serves as an additional character and forms a third pillar in the craft of our ttheater-making.
